Basically because sublemmys about Catholicism (and Christianism in general) are stormed on daily basis by atheists that come there downvoting everything by default, just because there is people talking about faith.
Exactly this. Lemmy likes to say they embrace diversity, but their actions show something very different.
I have no problems with people starting communites I don’t agree with, and I surely don’t go there just to downvote. That sort of thing is toxic behavior that goes against the spirit of Lemmy.
So thanks for going against the tide and sticking to your beliefs!
while i’m an athiest myself, it’s crazy to me that people would just downvote your post for having religion in it. I figured it was the app was spyware or something.
You rightly find it crazy because you are a honest person; it is better calling them “anti-religion” instead of atheists.
