So, the gist is, I’ve only ever worn whichever-FruitOfTheLooms were cheapest at whatever Walmart or Target I happened to be at. There was that one time I was at a fetish shop and I bought fancy underwear (for like forty dollars…) but I’m hoping to find something somewhere in between.
What’s an underwear option that supports looking like they were bought, neither, by one’s mom 20 years ago nor by a 40 year old virgin at a sex shop?

Can’t go wrong with boxer briefs.
Boody was a brand that had rayon synthesized from bamboo that’s not too bad looking and reasonably comfortable. They also last for quite a while so while they’re like 20$ a “unit” you’ll get your money’s worth. I’ve got some of their boxer briefs and briefs and I’ve been pretty happy with them.
Pact sells organic 100% cotton stuff at about the same price point. Pretty snug so I probably should have had a slightly larger size than normal to account for shrinkage in the dryer. Lasted a couple of years before holes started to wear in them. But, they’re cotton so should degrade in the dump… eventually.
Neither brand had a failure of the waistband elasticity.
And my badpost about jock straps wasn’t a joke, they are super comfortable in hot weather.

I thought they would be… but if the size is correct and the fabric is agreeable it doesn’t really put much pressure on anything.
I found it to dig in super hard to the area around my bits. I can see why they’re necessary for holding a cup in place but other than that I’ll stick to briefs/boxer briefs.

boxer briefs or just briefs i like. they’re both classic styles, just preference. I’m not a masc per se but i am butch and i love to wear the Calvin Klein men’s briefs. get the right size and they’re super flattering imo. not the cheapest though and CK quality has gotten worse over the years but there’s alternatives out there, the style is the main thing.
I’ve had good luck with underwear made by companies I’d call “department store high fashion” e.g. calvin klein or ralph lauren. But definitely boxer briefs all the way
Boxer briefs, but make sure they have a pouch. More comfortable, healthier and they look away better.

As a cut guy, there’s probably a lot more friction on the head than there would be with tighter underwear. It’s likely adding to my problem of lack on sensitivity during sex.
