Your resources are also drained by tasks that take effort. Imagine if you had to search for the { key on the keyboard each time you needed to type it. Sure, it would slow you down. But worse than the slowdown is that you would use up precious cognitive resources. You would have fewer resources to think about the problem. If it took you long enough, you might even forget what you were trying to do. In short, it’s not slow typing that is the problem, but typing that takes effort
