I hate how there is so much technology I dreamed of as a child that is so dystopic. The tinfoil hat folks of my youth warned about secret government listening devices hidden away in all electronics but it turns out the listening devices are overt and corporate and require a monthly fee.
And as the cartoon invokes, technology has become so evil and clever in certain areas, but where it should count the most, like instant perception of people, of policies, disaster warning etc, so dumb. Of course, the technology is not the problem, but a clear reflection of where we let the resources to go into the most. Wildfire-Fighting Fleet in the US… there goes, 40 airplanes (half of them non-operative)… military ones 13,000 and lets not even try to compare prices and maintenance costs.
Somehow this is both misandry and misogyny.
