So what would/could the average person stockpile that would be helpful? We have had conversations in our family and friend group we agree on a few things…

    • coffee
    • cooking oils
    • canned goods
    • dried goods (rice/pasta)
    • ammo

That said in the end without a functional society no one can stock pile enough to last long. We quickly go to preper mind set and it gets crazy difficult real quick.

One of the ironies of stockpiling stuff is that you’re probably mostly planning for shortages when other people are trying to stockpile. At least, that was my memory of early covid and toilet paper.

Makes sense. That being the case the average person can only stock pile for a short disruption of supply chain.

The real stockpile was the one in our hearts

(really though, building communities where a lot of people have different useful skills. As you say, stockpiles dwindle quickly, and how many people do you know how to set up a sewage system or run a lathe off solar panels etc etc)

          (stockpile communities)
