An alliance between the far right and Silicon Valley oligarchs has given rise to a form of “end times fascism,” says journalist Naomi Klein, who details in a recent essay co-authored with Astra Taylor how many wealthy elites are preparing for the end of the world even as they contribute to growing inequality, political instability and the climate crisis. Klein says that while billionaires dream of escaping to bunkered enclaves or even to space, President Donald Trump and other right-wing leaders are turning their countries into militarized fortress states to keep out immigrants from abroad and ramp up authoritarian control domestically. “There’s always an apocalyptic quality to fascism, but fascism of the 1930s and ’40s had a horizon” for a utopian future, says Klein. Today, by contrast, “we’re up against people who are actively betting against the future — not just actively betting against it, but fueling the fires that are burning this world.”

      No brother, it’s not, I’m very much on your side in that regard. It’s just that when you attach massive paragraphs, that are only tangentially related to the comment you’re replying to every time, people will assume you are either a bot or not mentally well. Because no normal people do that. Simply look at every other profile on Lemmy, it’s not normal.

You sense mental weakness (like role models of current Internet behavior and social machine usage- Elon Musk and Donald Trump do with Twitter and Truth Social media systems) and you go on the dehumanization attack of calling me a robot machine. Cyber Computer Bullying because you hate people who don’t think like you do, a hate attack.

          See, this is exactly my point, I’m not going to read that massive wall of text, I didn’t read any of it in fact. I don’t think most people will. You can continue to ignore everyone, which is evidenced by your profile consisting mostly of downvoted comments and arguing, OR you can try to engage in a manor any normal member of society does. I’m sure it’s going to be the former and you’ll even reply to this with another massive wall of text, but the information is out there and it’s you who is refusing to come to the table and have normal civil discussions.
