Let’s see… Band formed in 1981, they were 18. But this photo would’ve been a little bit later bc it’s got Cliff Burton and Kirk Hammett. Mustaine got replaced by Kirk in ‘83, and Cliff dies in ‘86. So they would’ve been somewhere between 20-23 years old in this pic.
that’s insane. they look so young, and usually people from pictures back then look older than they actually are. i’d have guessed they were all about 16 in this image.

i don’t want to rob you of all the rewarding research, but you could probably start by finding out how old they were when they started the band.
