This fish is the amazon molly. It gets its name from the greek mythological amazon warriors as the entire species is female. Sorry, boykissers. It lives in northeast mexico and southern texas and reproduces asexually by cloning itself.

More specifically they trigger gynogenesis using the sperm from males of other species! The sperm only triggers asexual reproduction, so the male DNA isn’t actually used in any way. I dunno why they use this mechanism specifically, perhaps it’s just a convenient mechanism to control when they should produce offspring.
