How much “Hollywood Accounting” is going to be used to keep the funds out of the hands of the family?

“Sorry little Bobby, but after all the losses from the lawsuits and delays we actually lost 15 million dollars on the movie. So, you wanna write us a check, or…?”

Hopefully it’s good (and makes plenty of money for her son). The review on that site is positive and other sources praise the cinematography.

Imdb rating is abysmal but I didn’t read the reviews to see if it’s people who actually watched the movie or just people pissed off that it got released. I’ve not yet decided if I’m going to go see it, but if I do, I’ll actually go watch it in the cinema.

It is clearly being review bombed. 46.3% of the user ratings are 1/10 and two of the three 1/10 written reviews are related to the shooting.

Not surprised. I think even for a professional critic it might be hard to review this unbiased. Will have to watch it myself though I have no idea if it’s even coming to cinemas in my country. Didn’t see it in the upcoming list for our beloved cinema monopoly that bought out all the other places that were struggling so now we have pretty much just the one chain that gets to decide what we can watch.

I mean, on one hand I see their point of view that it was a project that was poorly managed and led to her death.

On the other hand, this is in part HER art. So it feels weird to bury something that she helped create, cared about, and showcases her particular vision. I feel that it’s better to be released and to bring to focus her particular talents and artistry. Let it be a celebration of her work and vision.

Sadly a similar thing happened to Brandon Lee on the set of The Crow.

I read a beautiful review in my (german-language) newspaper today, focussing on Halyna Hutchins’ cinematography and emphasizing how much this movie benefits from it.

Basically saying that while Hutchins was not award-winning famous yet, her work on this film would have raised her profile in the industry further.
