Andor is set above the rest of the franchise because the show’s writers fundamentally understand fascism. Gilroy and co pull just about everything in the show from real historical events and trends in a way that makes me think more than one of them is a secret Marxist. Just miles above any other attempted political commentary from this dead horse of a franchise
The flip side to what makes Partagaz interesting is that he’s not just stern, but that he’ll check his own ego and allow himself to be persuaded even if it runs counter to his perspective. I thought that line was the rebels using Cyril’s perceived hatred of the ISB to gaslight him into thinking that by helping them, he is actually helping the Empire. There are probably rebels who hate the Empire, but love the Emperor though, lol.
