This article is pretty old but I thought I’d share it here. The Party Source is among the biggest liquor stores in the Cincinnati region, and the owner sold it in its entirety to his employees through an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) structure.
ESOPs are pretty nice. It’s not quite a worker cooperative, but I think it’s a step in the right direction.
