Father of modern capitalism really is just wrong maybe father of classical liberalism would be more like it, he never argued for capitalism like modern liberals do he simply described it with enthusiasm as an emerging and positive force, which in his time it was.
Liberalism as an ideology basically exists to justify capitalism though.
Yes but classical liberalism only sought to understand it, that is THE distinction between classical liberalism and liberalism.
