The comments from the town local subreddit are decent.

Why is San Marcos sending Israel $4 million of their tax money to begin with? That’s insanity.

Our federal government already subsidizes Israel so much that they’re able to offer their citizens every social program known to man. Healthcare, education, housing.

If that number of tax dollars from San Marcos sent to Israel is accurate it’s just fucking depressing. 4 million dollars that could’ve been spent on housing, healthcare, our roads, or our river instead goes to some shitty military of 19 year old colonels to commit war crimes.

Criticism isn’t antisemitism. Wanting your tax dollars to be spent in your community instead of being funneled to a foreign government isn’t antisemitism.

Whack and I say that as someone who has no interest in boycotting Israel.

When your policy is fear mongering and withholding funds from people you disagree with, you’re probably not a real Christian.

Odd. Well now I’m curious. What is San Marcos investing in that it plans to stop?

More than half of U.S. adults (53%) now express an unfavorable opinion of Israel, up from 42% in March 2022
