Periods suck ass. I dont have pcos, but my periods are irregular, usually last a full 7 days, and are painful. I’m sorry you’re having to deal with it ugh.

Most mammals reabsorb it, so as to not leave blood everywhere for predators to follow. Some animals only ovulate during intercourse, and not before. I think a few other apes (and baboons iirc??) have periods and that’s it?

So annoying. I’ve been meaning to get onto a GP to start the process for a hysterectomy, now that I’m over 30 I’ll have an easier time convincing them I’m childfree and not maternal in the slightest.

A nice hot water bottle/wheat bag applied to the region helps somewhat, or a hot shower. I’m sorry, friend.

Shit, afab people’s health has been pushed to the back for far too fucking long hasn’t it? For christ’s sake people know what they want for their bodies.

Tangent time! The last time I went to the doctor for something physical (I have been for mental health plenty), the doctor was very persistent I take my clothes off so he can check the rest of my body.

Now, I went for help with treating psoriasis behind my ears, and I obviously have checked myself and know it’s nowhere else; it hasn’t spread. But he just wouldn’t take my ‘no, I dont have this issue elsewhere, just on my head’ as a definive answer.

Suffice to say, after that particular incident, I don’t talk to male GPs about my physical health anymore. Which has led to me neglecting certain physical ailments as trying to find an available female doctor, that I’m comfortable with, is like searching for the fucking holy grail, apparently.

Ugh sorry, just my own Lil’ Rant™️ about GPs. Bleh!

That’s pretty creepy. I’m sorry you’ve had to put your health on the back burner. I’m pretty sure the centre clinic in st kilda has a female gp and they’re a specialist queer clinic.

My GP there is male, but I’ve always felt completely safe and understood by him. He only works wednesdays though. I think he’s the only one there who has the training and capacity to understand hormone treatment but I could be wrong.

Not too sure what went wrong in the drawing board when it came to human periods… haha.

Yeah I think I might do what I need to do around the house and then heat up the wheat bag and continue reading the comic I was reading at work (look, it was super slow and I wasn’t getting emails).
