It sounds crazy, right? We all go to the store. We see the prices on milk, bread, vegetables — nothing’s really dropping. Maybe eggs are a little cheaper than they were at their peak, but no way are they down “93%” or whatever nonsense he’s claiming. Usually, his lies are about things the average person doesn’t directly deal with — foreign policy, stock markets, things you can’t touch or see. But groceries? That’s everyday life. Who does he think he’s fooling?

Well, the answer’s obvious. He’s not trying to fool everyone — he’s speaking directly to a specific audience: married MAGA men who haven’t done their own grocery shopping in years. They have no idea what things cost anymore. Who are they going to believe? Their “dumb wife” who’s struggling to stretch the budget, or their golden idol, Trump, who tells them everything’s fixed?

Here’s a real example. Just yesterday, I was standing in line behind a woman at the supermarket. She had basic groceries: potatoes, milk, some chicken, a pack of baby formula. Total at the register? Over a hundred dollars. She checked and rechecked her cart, then sadly had to put some things back. Meanwhile, how many men sitting at home watching Fox News would believe her if she said prices were still sky-high? None. Because Trump told them otherwise.

Another friend told me how she got into a fight with her husband. He swore that groceries were cheaper now — because Trump said so — even while she was showing him receipts. Rice? Up. Vegetables? Up. Meat? Practically a luxury item now. But in his mind, it wasn’t inflation — it was just that she “didn’t know how to shop smart.”

This is who Trump’s talking to. Men who have no real connection to the household economy but are quick to assume the women in their lives are the problem.

That’s why it’s critical to talk to the MAGA women in your life. They live this reality every day at the checkout line. Their husbands might be lost to the fantasy, but the women know the truth. And we have to help them hold onto it — and not let gaslighting

Because his Cult Members will believe anything he says, and his enablers will back him up.

This is batshit insanity, and result of 40 years of the brainwashing of the American Stupid.

I feel like he’s probably saying it because he’s been told it’s true and he’s too dumb to check for himself. Why would anyone lie to him? I mean it sounded like he only learned the word “Grocery” 6 months ago …

I’m going to hazard a guess that the people who told him groceries are down 93% also think it’s true because they were unable to correctly interpret a report and have assumed what they thought it said is right. I’m not saying that makes it any better, I just think Hanlons razor is true more than it’s not.
