Hey there! Hoping for some help. I’ve never really owned plants, but my best friend is moving out of state and gave me 6 plants she didn’t want to throw away. 4 of them are looking pretty rough. They are a ponytail and a monstera, and two mystery plants, one being some sort of cactus I think. They are all getting what I think is medium light? In my apartment, which has a north facing sliding glass door and windows, and they have all been being watered once a week. They also have been getting “miracle grow tropical house plant food” once a week. Any tips to try and save these lil guys?
The spikey succulent is a Euphorbia Trigona. We have one of those. It’s one of the few plants we haven’t killed. It could probably go more than a month without water, but weekly light watering shouldn’t harm it. Just no more than that. The leaves are seasonal and will fall off and grow again. We have ours getting half light on our East window, but it has done well in periods of only indirect light. It doesn’t require too much care and likes being root bound. They can grow very tall and narrow.
Can confirm there. I forget to water mine for weeks at a time and has only been re-potted once in around 15 years and is currently around 1.5m tall.
Thank you so much!! I will cut back on the watering and not panic when the leaves fall off
