Goddamn, the dudes who are the top 5 or so first round picks know they are going to shit-tier teams by definition. Imagine dropping to the 5th round and still going to the Browns.
As a Browns fan 🤣🤣🤣
You are spot on! We got him so cheap which is why I think they picked him up.
#RebuildingSince1964
Everyone i was with was stunned the steelers didnt take him in the fourth for that exact reasoning. High upside and cheap. Guess the risk of locker room cancer was too high
Browns demonstrate yet again dumbest team in the league.
Browns are in cap hell, a QB with upside for basically free is a decent pick in the 5th.
Mel Kiper’s long nightmare is over!
I’m only vaguely following the Sanders story and the Draft generally. Is there something wrong with him that is making teams not want him? He was a big favourite for #1 pick at one point, so what has changed?
EDIT - for anyone with the same question I just saw this discussion, could be relevant: https://lemmy.ca/post/42942962
Well to start Ego and baggage. No one wants the locker room drama for a mediocre QB. The reports about his interview are not good either. Some coach’s saying it was the worst interview they have ever seen. His dad has been talking trash on Twitter too and thats the other issue that I can see him trying to work his way into the locker room and tell Kevin the Browns coach how to do his job. I hope this is a humbling experience for him and his father as he is not all that and a bag of potato chips
I would love to see Hard Knocks comeback to Cleveland. It would be a very interesting season
Sorry, I completely missed this - thanks for the detailed answer. Sounds like Sanders needs to get some perspective!
What made his interview so terrible?
Anderson reported that an anonymous NFL quarterbacks coach said Sanders was “brash” and “arrogant” during pre-draft interviews, while McShay reported that some teams felt Sanders didn’t have a “professional approach” during interviews.
Says a lot about him since the coach’s deal will a lot players with huge egos all the time
