I’ve seen this sort of thing in online games. Joke’s on the dragon ship, that guy with the kitties has so many hours played that he doesn’t even have to put on a tough face, he’ll beat you to death with a rubber chicken or some goofy thing just because he can.

Seems like just a visual joke.
The guys in the ship with the duck head and kitten basket on the sails, clean shaven, with plain helmets and wearing skirts, don’t look as tough as the guys with the dragon head and two headed dragon on their sail who are hearing horned helmets, have beards and carrying spears.
Some far side jokes fall flat for me too.
Puppy cats… More like “the furside” am I right?
