By “tells it like it is” they mean obviously bigoted. They genuinely believe they are the silent majority and that everyone secretly agrees with them. Trump is just the only politician brave enough to not hide that he’s a piece of shit.
Sad thing is they are probably right as far as the politicians are concerned.

I heard a fellow New Yorker swear that Trump’s dad had him working construction like a regular guy before giving him the money to get started. Trump has no idea how to hold a shovel.
The man has never worked an honest days work in his entire life, especially in manual labor. You can see he hasn’t been humbled with crippling body pain and low pay with no benefits. How his supporters think he identifies with them baffles me.
