75% is pretty bad
Nice try Cyril
They should have filmed two sequels, The Accountant: Accounts Payable and The Accountant: Accounts Receivable, back-to-back to complete the trilogy.
I thought it was weird when they unlocked his psychic powers and implied all autistic people could use telepathy
I’m not sure if this is a joke or not from the first one. It had the weirdest mix of “Is autism a superpower? Or is child abuse?”
Are they good? They appear bland
It’s a mixed bag tbh. I think the first one is overlong and less clever than it thinks it is. The action is competent, but not substantively better than a good direct to video shoot em up, and there’s just so much dead space between these sequences it’s almost not worth it.
That being said, i’d rank it above Jason Statham’s A Working Man, but below Jason Statham’s The Beekeeper. Idk if that helps you at all, but I think it’s indicative of the mode this movie is trying to operate in.
Thanks for your opinion! I will get the first one and checked it out. Did you watch the second yet?
Beekeeper cracked me up so fricken much. To bee or not to bee is hilarious.
The movies? The first was surprisingly good, though I walked in with zero expectations.
Not a first John Wick, but a decent action flick.
Thanks! I’ll check it out. Tangent on that comment, gosh John wick 1 was awesome but boy was it so bland by 4. I really really liked the John Wick inspired Nobody.
The first was one of the most hilariously bad and poor taste depictions of autism since Rain Man. There’s no way the second is any better.
Disagree. I felt seen.
But I’m not a superhero accountant, so I could be wrongI’m glad you did! Savantism tends to be looked down on by the rest of ASD folx who aren’t savants, which is unfortunately a majority. It’s also important to note you don’t have to beat the shit out of your shins, subject yourself to loud noises and flashing lights, and do other unpleasant, torture-adjacent things just to mask. You can find communities out there that will accept you for you with or without a mask.
But again he’s a superhero accountant. Not a healthy well adjusted person with autism. I wouldn’t expect to relate to everything.
Besides there is nothing in the movie that suggests he needs to do those things. I saw that as a routine instilled in him by his abusive father. It’s not some example of a proper coping technique he would have learned in the great looking facility his father refused to send him to.
I never thought the movie was presenting him or his brother as happy well adjusted people. The abuse they were raised with was quite obvious.
