The president and his allies have repeatedly flirted with the possibility of Trump running for a third term, even though the Constitution forbids it.

      I hear he uses it as toilet paper. Why haven’t amer9cans intervened on this kind of crap? If he gets a 3rd term, then all rules are off. Everything is permitted.

      An extremely vague and weak document that everyone has just sort of wink wink nod nodded about following earnestly? A document that the two parties have hitherto tactitly agreed not to abuse in the name of precedent and civility? A document that is so flimsy it gets thrown out the window once a demagogue gets elected? One that specifically enshrines the right to enslave people(I know of no other constitution with such a stipulation)?

      “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.”

      Even a dumbass like me can see one of the many weakness here. Trump can become president without being elected if he, as VP, succeeds someone to assume the position of POTUS.

        VP is required to be eligible to become president, so he’d have to become VP two years and one day into a later president’s term. Assuming that we’re letting constitutionality get in his way.

          Trump is eligible to become president. The Constitution disqualifies him from being elected president. At least that’s the angle I’ve heard from the far-right.
