Are You Bring Served? used to air on PBS here after the local news and I watched it for years. Then one night Red Dwarf either replaced it, or came on after it. I was hooked from the first second. This was somewhere 89-91.

In 99 my ex and I had a kid and while pregnant and on my ex would only watch Red Dwarf. She had the box set, I think s1-7. She watched it so much I had to replace tapes for her. I got so sick of the show I have only watched an episode here and there for the last 25 years.

A few months ago I signed up for BritBox so I could rewatch AYBS and Keeping Up Appearances, but ended up starting Red Dwarf again. Last night I got into s8 for the first time ever.

Oh wow, I hadn’t thought about ‘Are you being served?’ in years. There was a whole block of British comedies on my PBS station’s Saturday night line-up: Are you Being Served, Allo Allo, Keeping up Appearances, As Time Goes By, Black Adder, Chef! - just to name the few I remember, I’m sure there were more. You’ll have to let us know what you think of S8!

    Captain Peacock, are you free?

I loved all of Red Dwarf. Sure some of it didn’t hit as hard as the first few seasons, but it is still a show I go back and watch regularly.

I liked Red Dwarf so much as a teen, that it is what got me into eating curries. And still to this day vindaloo is one of my favorites.
