No no, I was told that this is all business as usual and nothing could ever get worse in America because all capitalist administrations are the same.

When LBJ was Vice President, his personal chef – a black woman – had a family emergency and had to return home to Texas. He let her borrow his car for the long drive from Washington D.C. There were still a lot of businesses in the south that would refuse to accommodate blacks in the early 1960’s.

After telling him about her trip on return, LBJ angrily remarked on what a disgrace it was the “the Vice President’s chef, driving the Vice President’s car had to stop and shit along the side of the road” because no gas station would accommodate her.

Personally, I cannot wrap my brain around seeing another person as inferior to myself, much less to the point where I would deny them the ability to use the bathroom and force them to go outside like an animal.

And yet, that and much worse have been the lived experience of many people in this country from day one. “Freedom” and “Equality” have always been lies for many Americans. If we had any moral fiber as a country, we would have shipped the Statue of Liberty back because it was an undeserved gift that did not and has never truly reflected our national values.

That’s not to say that things haven’t improved. They definitely have in some ways. But the same attitudes that denied the VP’s chef the ability to use the bathroom because she was black still exist in people today. They haven’t magically vanished. And those people are working overtime to make life difficult for anyone they see as inferior to themselves.

Those people need to fuck off. But they won’t until either something changes their minds or they are forced to.

    For whom, though?

The US has always been cruel to minority groups; the only real difference is “middle class” white people are now being targeted too.

Native peoples, black Americans, and anyone not straight or who dared speak their mind have always been targeted with violence.

Does it need to change? Yes. But let’s not fool ourselves into thinking we ever truly had a “good old days.” Nostalgia is a dangerous poison.

I also realize now after typing this rant that may be the point of the meme lol sorry, I’ll keep the rest intact though.

No you were right to call me out.

You make some fair points but it seems like you are saying things can’t possibly get worse for people who are not young white cishet protestant men without disabilities.

The thing is however, that it can always get worse. And it just did.

Legal discrimination is back at the federal level. The ACLU and other rights advocates are going to have a much harder time trying to represent anyone who is now in a scapegoated demographic. We are now in an post human rights America where a “pure” national identity is taking shape. The Executive Order is intended to disarm legal resistance by remove the few institutional tools we have to fight discrimination.

This must be met with resistance.

I think his point is that the permissible level of bigotry and violence against minority groups has helped paved the way for the increase of fascism in America, which has now begun to turn it’s cross hairs on more and more citizens that in the past wouldn’t be directly affected.

Solidarity for all people is necessary to oppose fascism. Appeasement by throwing minority groups under the bus has only ever strengthened fascism. The latter has been the choice of most if not all administrations in America.

          I agree with their points.

I just think that legalized discrimination is something that shouldn’t be brushed off as the same old shit. This is in fact very new unprecedented shit.

America has deported american citizens multiple times before, in particular Mexican Americans and Asian Americans. The legalized discrimination against black Americans has been with us since reconstruction was sabatoged by the white supremacists in our local and federal administrations. It’s unprecedented for white Americans, yeah. Not so much for those who have been historically oppressed in America.

This is certainly a new wave of fascism in America, it’s even affecting white Americans who historically have not been in the crosshairs, in particular for protesting and voicing the opposition to America and Israel’s genocide of Palestine. The crosshairs of fascism never ends with minority groups, it inevitability grows and attacks people who initially thought they were safe as long as they didn’t fight for those who were the initial target. The US has reached that tipping point, if we aren’t already past it.

Unless you immigrated to another country, you better check your local state constitution to see if discrimination is still illegal because as of today, the whole country is in the south.

I emigrated to a civilized country.

But yes, the south is spreading their vile subhuman filth to the entire country.

They’re the kind of people who see others living without being covered in shit and it pisses them off.

The monsters chased me first to the coasts, and now out of my home, but nobody listened.

Nobody wanted to believe we had the people who literally inspired Hitler here (he spoke of them as the model for Germany to follow in Mein Kampf, and the Nuremberg laws were Jim Crow with the name written in at the top).

            Yes, but no.

Nazis thought Germans would be shocked by the “One-Drop rule” as too extreme, so they dropped it in favor of multiple ancestors.

“The American example… provides the most important model. … There is no other country that has done more to legally segregate its population.”

Hitler also spoke of The Jim Crow south as providing the racial model Germany must follow, in Mein Kampf.

“Hitler’s American Model: The United States and the Making of Nazi Race Law” by historian James Q. Whitman

The South was far more evil, which is why Hitler felt he had to enact the Final Solution in secret.

Anyway, now target can place whites only signs back up to compliment their anti DEI policies and it’s going to be hard to challenge that in court.

“the whole town came out for it” more than implies popular support, so you’re jumping over the point
