Lots of open-source (and I think all or mostly European) alternatives to big US tech.
There are so many XMPP projects under Services + Applications. Love it
OpenStreetMap editing beyond Android
The goal of this project is to migrate StreetComplete from an Android app to a multiplatform app, making use of Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform for the UI, thus, allowing the app to be released on other platforms, such as iOS and eventually Linux.
Neat! This could help OSM as a whole a lot!
But, you can edit directly on the OSM website… Ie On any device / OS… so…?
It’s hardly as accessible as SC.
I agree, my point is, we don’t need another app for this.
The StreetComplete functionality could be put on the OSM website… maybe even make it the default editor and make the current OSM editor the “advanced” one…
Edit: but don’t get me wrong - anything that can improve adoption of OSM is a great thing, totally agree on that point
