The big WTF is that they’re using a point system for determining if they’re in a gang. Not actually investigation, just visual ‘proof’.
If you get eight points your ‘proven’ to be a gang member with four points if you have ‘gang tattoo’ and four points of you dress with ‘known gang attire’, like high end urban street wear.
No actual investigation, just if you look like a movie version of a gang member, you are considered an official gang member and sent to prison with no trial.
They’re pretty much just using tattoos from all that I’ve seen. I wouldn’t even say a “point system”. Garcia was wearing a fucking classic Chicago Bulls hat, which they claimed was some sort of proof of gang involvement. That’s a bigger WTF.
A zero percent error rate would still be unacceptable. They’ve been sent to a gulag without a trial and have no sentence to serve. The offense doesn’t matter, the guilt doesn’t matter, that’s not how you handle either crime or deportation.
I think it’s been proven that up to 90% are not. Anything but a 0% error rate in this is unacceptable.

I imagine skin tone can get you up to 10 points as well

Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no.
