The YouTube channel LunchAndVR just dropped the first look at The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered running in VR with motion controls. The mod leverages UEVR — a tool that converts Unreal Engine games for VR — to breathe new life into the re-released RPG classic.
According to the video description, these are very early tests, with more updates promised soon. Currently, motion controls are still a bit unstable, occasionally causing crashes, so there aren’t any fully functional 6DOF profiles available for download yet.
Still, LunchAndVR has already shared two profiles: a performance profile from “Keyser” aimed at smoother VR gameplay, and a 3DOF profile with further performance tweaks from “Pande4360.” A full 6DOF profile for complete motion control is reportedly in the works and should be released soon. On the performance front, LunchAndVR notes that the game holds up well indoors, but outdoor areas see a slight dip in framerate. The footage was captured using a Meta Quest 3 paired with Virtual Desktop VDXR, running at Ultra settings and 72 Hz. The test PC featured a GeForce RTX 4090, an Intel i9-13900 processor, and 64 GB of RAM. In-game, graphics were set to medium with DLSS enabled in performance mode.
Beardo Benjo also did a UEVR test. As promising as it already is, and with 700+ mods already on the Nexus, I’d like to see the basic backbone of SkyrimVR, before I’m gonna immerse myself in Cyrodiil. VRIK, HIGGS, & PLANCK is really all I’m asking for to start lol. Also, I could easily see my R7 7700/RX 7800XT crumble at the sight of this.

I’ll be waiting for proper 6dof and controllers support. I’ll also most likely way to play it on the moohan for better visuals but i might need to upgrade my PC since the 3090 is very limited in that regard…
