not really since the “hate speech” follow-up is just a plausibly deniable way of doing the same dishonest conflation of anti-zionism with anti-semitism

These people must have their own definition of politics™ and art that are mutually exclusive. Otherwise, I don’t know how you could be so ignorant. ArT mUsT bE aPoLiTiCaL

For me personally, it’s how being critical of Israel being hate speech is the same logic (and often identical verbiage) as what they were using in the lead up to the Iraq war. You’re either with us or with the terrorists

The idea that art should be apolitical is maddening. They should just put corporate instructional jingles over the speakers for people to take selfies for their Instagrams for Coachella. The outfits better not be shiny and revealing as that would be kind of political - let’s make it business casual. Drugs are kind of political too, so it’s just $25 beers.

It’s actually the logic of the Japanese internment camps. The anti-Zionism=antisemitism" crowd are themselves violently antisemitic. They believe that Jews in America can’t really be full Americans. They must always have some suspect ties and loyalty to Israel, simply due to their religion and ethnicity. Jews can’t ever be truly American. From birth, regardless of their choices or character, they will always have fealty to a foreign power. This is literally Nazi logic.

Unfortunate to be aware that horrible demon is still alive. Sharon being married to the vocalist of a band that wrote War Pigs and saying “muh politics in music? FUCK YOU” is truly something.

I think this is the second Hexbear post I’ve seen about Sharon Osbourne, and those have also been the only times I’ve remembered this parasite’s existence.

Sharon Osbourne stumbled ass-backwards into doing one good thing her entire life: introducing Ronnie James Dio to the remaining members of Black Sabbath after Ozzy quit to pursue a career as a nose candy sommelier. (Well, an even bigger one.)

Sharon has spent every waking moment of her life trying to undo any accidental goodwill that she may have earned ever since.

Coachella 2025 will be remembered as a festival that compromised its moral and spiritual integrity. Goldenvoice, the festival organizer, facilitated this by allowing artists to use the Coachella stage as a platform for political expression. Kneecap, an Irish rap group, took their performance to a different level by incorporating aggressive political statements. Their actions included projections of anti-Israel messages and hate speech, and this band openly support terrorist organizations. This behavior raises concerns about the appropriateness of their participation in such a festival and further shows they are booked to play in the USA.Reports indicate that Goldenvoice was unaware of Kneecap’s political intentions when they were booked. However, after witnessing their performance during the first weekend, allowing them to perform again the following weekend suggests support of their rhetoric and a lack of due diligence. Scooter Braun, who has been involved in organizing the Nova Music Festival exhibit—a tribute to the victims of the October 7th attacks in Israel—has defended Goldenvoice CEO Paul Tollett as he attended the Nova Exhibit. If Tollett visited the Nova exhibit, he would have seen the portraits of every person that was killed that day and heard some of their voices on cell phone recordings, sent home to their loved ones. It is difficult to comprehend how if somebody saw this exhibit firsthand that they could book a band on their festival that is in support of what was done that day and supports the group responsible for this mass murder. Not one IDF solider was killed that day, just 1400 innocent civilians. The Independent Artists Group, which represents Kneecap, includes individuals of Jewish heritage. It is disheartening that they have not used their positions to prevent the promotion of such controversial messages. As someone with both Irish Catholic on my Mothers side and Ashkenazi Jewish heritage on my Fathers side, and extensive experience in the music industry, I understand the complexities involved. I urge you to join me in advocating for the revocation of Kneeecap’s work visa.
