If I was a congressperson - I think what I would focus on would be smaller stuff that - at least in theory - had a tiny chance of passing.
Oh come, let’s at least be intellectually honest here, the legitimate critique against dems was that they were getting no where either ways so why not go big with ‘cancel all student debt’ vs ‘cancel 10k’.
‘End homelessness’ is a good message.

It’s performative bullshit when they are out of power and can do fuck all. There will be more of this in 2026 and 2028 before the elections. “Elect me and I will put the Fill-in-the-Blank-Sounds-Good! bill on the floor. We will work for you America!” After the election? Crickets.
If there’s a serious of bona fide miracles and in 2029 the dems control congress and the presidency - I can guarantee you that there will be no* stuff like “Housing for All!” or “$17 (minimum wage) for All!”, etc. They will say you can’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. We campaign in poetry but we govern in prose. And the difficult realities of politics mean fuck-fuck-fuckity fuck-fuck-fuck…
