    I’ve always thought that diesel busses get ignored too much from an air quality point of view because their emissions get divided by passenger counts. However in absolute terms mass transportation has big dirty engines that need to go.

      I agree, mass transit should only ever use diesel if its actively being established for the first time (for now still cheaper per bus/train, if you’re establishing a new grid, its critical to start with as many buses/trains as possible) and once its gotten established and is being used by a segment of the population it should be switched as quickly as possible.
