Interesting, but Steam only? I’d rather not depend on yet another corporate lock-in.
You should check if it has DRM, you’d be surprised, but there are a decent amount of games that don’t implement the Steam DRM.
You can copy/archive the game folder and you get a DIY DRM-free installer, just like with GOG.
