It’s not a recent flick but I just wanna share my review –

I finished it minutes ago. The 1st 20 min are so boring. Here are what spurred me to finish it.

  1. Spielberg directed it.
  2. It was loosely based on his childhood.

The post, Bridge of spies and Saving Private Ryan’s opening are 👍 so I hoped The Fabelmans was 👍 too. It was entertaining but not great. OK plot.

👍 acting. I can write about 3 paragraphs re the top cast’s acting but I don’t wanna make this too long. I’ll just highlight Sam Rechner, who didn’t play the cliched bully. It seemed Logan Hall had an internal issue. Bullying, having that high school quarterback aura, then his conscience tapping him due to his bullying, then getting upset; it can easily get cringe. But Rechner’s acting wasn’t cringe. Great job.
