April showers supposedly bring May flowers. Is it rainy where you are? What gear do you use? What are you missing?
I live in Seattle and like to go outside. I have all of the rain gear.
But no, April is around when the sun starts making its way out again. Got a touch of rain over the weekend.
I love my waterproof cameras and weather sealed lenses!
I didn’t even think of that! How heavy rain can it take?
It can take a complete dunk in (shallow) water, so it handles rain nicely!
Nice one
My color palette is almost entirely based on Captain America so I’ve got these boots and Tommy Hilfiger hooded jacket. I’m pretty happy with them, though I also have to wear a billed cap under the hood to protect my glasses.
I still need a good (and fashionable) umbrella.
That’s a great ensemble!
Disclaimer: Not a woman.
But I always like to keep one of those mini compact umbrellas in the vehicle.
Edit: Oops, meant for that to be a top level comment, but I might as well leave it 🤷
Hey mate! Thanks for your interest in our community. We’re women only, so please don’t comment again 😊
Regular rain coat, because I love photography and cameras are hard to use with an umbrella. Have one as a backup though. (though admittedly I just had fun tracking the umbrella down after it fell off my camera bag in middle of nowhere. Found it hanging off a tree fortunately) My current jackets can handle light drizzle.
Also, proper rubber boots which I’ve been using for, uh, can’t remember, at least the entirety of the current millennium. (Indestructible. Literally made by Nokia.)
Love this post! I wear leather boots unless it’s boiling so I’m always prepared for rain. Coat wise I have this bad boy. You can take the lining out, so it’s light enough for warm days, and it’s got a hood so I don’t have to mess round with an umbrella
Heaviest goretex jacket I could find + goretex shoes
Goretex is amazing, I have a Mountain Equipment coat for hiking, biking etc, I’ve had it over 15 years now and it’s still going strong
It’s great seeing water beading up and rolling off my goretex trainers after I’ve stood in a puddle
If you do get a coat I’d get a shell so you can layer it up in winter and still wear it in summer without, unless you live in Canada or Scandinavia. I’m in the UK, we don’t get arctic weather unless you’re up a mountain in Scotland in January
I have a few Rains of Denmark coats, they come i loads of colours and have a thin and rubberized coating, so while a bit of a sweatbox during hot weather they’re perfect for inbetween ‘not cold, but still not warm enough either’
Also a knirps fold up umbrella- small and light weight to put in a bag for those heavier downpours
And BOOTS!! never forget the boots! I’m still encased in Docs coated in plenty of dubbin, and wool socks from Bridgedale, keep you warm but not sweaty
It’s surprisingly dry-ish here, but always likely to just go torrential at a moments notice
