It’s hard to say because they’re both evil enough to do it on purpose, and stupid enough to do it by mistake.

“Reporting” on how devout Putin and Russia are because they observe service on Easter Sunday. With cameras.

Not reporting on Russia continuing to attack Ukraine on Easter after promising a cease fire.

“Putin broke cease fire when it was Biden, and when it was Obama. He won’t do it with me because he respects me.” - Donald Trump

It can’t be unintentional. I could have believed in wrongly written oblast center, but the fucking capital?! That is a deliberate trolling.

Buy they’re not a serious news station, they’ll argue. They’re just entertainment, they’ll say. They don’t have to relay any sort of “truth”.

Very interesting how left leaning entertainment (daily show, etc) is so much more informative than right wing “journalism”.

I used to think Daily Show was informative when I was in college a few decades ago. I don’t know if I’d call it that now.

Take the ‘enhanced’ version of Daily Show (Last Week Tonight) for example. It seems very informative at face value but if Oliver ever talks about a topic you have any depth of knowledge in, you realize how reductive it is.

The US doesn’t have many (any?) legitimate TV news outlets anymore. Most would be best off reading AP or Reuters directly.

Literally everything has some form of bias. Journalists try their best (or in the case of right wing media, they don’t) but they’re as susceptible as any of us.

It is not. There is a bias in most reporting and something as equally “left” as fox is “right” will likely pick and choose details in the same way because rage bait is much better at getting your attention than factual reporting.

I do not however believe the resulting damage to society is equal.

Tools like these can help visualise new reporting from many sources: https://app.adfontesmedia.com/chart/interactive
