Like, firehall, required every so often pretty regularly but only a single building footprint of like 5x8 units or something. Why not 6 different footprints? A small 4x4, 4x5, and 4x6, a medium 5x6, 5x8, and a large 6x6, 6x10, etc. I would pay an arm and a leg for a game with different customizable footprints for each building type.
