Need more context here. Bernie speaks regularly against Israel, usually to huge cheers from the crowd. So there must be a reason for this and it’s not “Bernie’s trying to shut down talk about Palestine”

It is. I’ve noticed industry on here several times. At least on this issue they seem more interested in stirring the pot than genuine discussion. They consistently clip quotes and videos just outside of relevant context then deny there is any when others call for it. When confronted with the context by others they deny that it changes anything at all.

        https://www.commondreams.org/news/bernie-sanders-fight-oligarchy-rallies

Pro-Palestine attendees of the Idaho rally were quickly removed by security after unfurling a Palestinian flag. This prompted Sanders—who has been criticized by Palestine defenders for his early refusal to endorse a cease-fire in Gaza as Israel launched its genocidal assault there and, later, by Israel backers for introducing legislation to ban U.S arms sales to the key ally—to declare that Israel “has the right to defend itself”.

to declare that Israel “has the right to defend itself” but “does not have the right to wage all-out war against the Palestinian people.”

Did you misspell the word genocide? Or is that “my job is to keep the left pro-Israel” Sanders doing it?

No, Israel Does Not Have the Right to Self-Defense In International Law Against Occupied Palestinian Territory

Occupation Law prohibits an occupying power from initiating armed force against its occupied territory. By mere virtue of the existence of military occupation, an armed attack, including one consistent with the UN Charter, has already occurred and been concluded. Therefore the right of self-defense in international law is, by definition since 1967, not available to Israel with respect to its dealings with real or perceived threats emanating from the West Bank and Gaza Strip population.

My friend, I literally just finished the paragraph you were quoting directly from the source you provided.

I’ve seen too much of the mud you call argumentation to want to roll around in it with you.

Well that’s certainly a lot more nuanced. It’s not unreasonable to oppose Hamas. In the current conflict obviously the bigger “bad guy” is obviously Israel. But for there to be a stable peace in the region Bernie is absolutely right, a two state solution (however unlikely that looks now) would have been the only solution, with peace enforced by the more powerful neighbors and neither Hamas nor the current genocidal Israeli government in charge of their states. Hell in a functioning world, the whole of Israel would be disarmed and become a UN protectorate or something.
