Hypnic jerk is the name of the phenomenon.
If this happens a lot, get checked out for sleep apnea, trust me
Can be a symptom but not always. For example my fiance has this all the time but not sleep apnea
I used to get this all the time when I was really young, like less than 8, but I’m an adult now and haven’t had it happen since then at all. I wonder why?
Perhaps less or different activity in the day? My husband gets this a lot as he does downhill biking and his brain is replaying the day, while I only get it occasionally and it’s usually something lame, like stepping off a curb.
Such a great point!
It feels like it happens more often the more active I was during the day, and as a kid hooo man very physically active.
I used to get struck with sleep paralysis all the time and similarly it just stopped one day. Stupid body
Inception kicks
Yet another sign of that InTELLIGeNt DeSiGN at work LMAO
