Not interested in moderating either community, as I don’t know nor follow sports enough to be of much help, but thought it would be good for those interested to have a general community like games/gaming for any sports.

A community like this could help act as onboarding to other more specific sports communities along the way.

Both communities are presently moderated by people that haven’t been active in three years and two years respectively.

Also I’m aware of a couple other general sports communities, but they’re on a widely defederated instance (Hexbear) and a more withdrawn instance (Beehaw), so they’re not all that suited to it. Strangely enough the big sports instance Fanaticus Social doesn’t have any such community, otherwise it might be a solid option.
