The thing about being ace is that society makes you feel like an alien, like something is wrong with you in a society where sex and relationships saturates everything. So finding other ace people can make you feel less alone and help you realize there’s absolutely nothing wrong you. Getting mad about ace people have a day for themselves in really petty, J.K. really is just an awful person.
Idk if you’d call that oppression but I assume ace people might be one of the groups most bombarded by micro aggressions given how sex-obsessed society is
I’m pretty sure being told again and again that romance can’t possibly work without sex must be at least extremely fucking tiring
It’s also about normalizing being ace, and making it more widely known that ace people exist so when non-ace people encounter ace people they’re understanding and accepting rather than dismissive. Something that JKR clearly has an issue with.
