Pierre Laval was basically the opportunist’s opportunist. Man unabashedly licked the boots of every party and ideology under the sun to get ahead even before he was “forced” to collaborate. I’m surprised to find out he was even worse that I thought (and pleasantly surprised to find out he actually had justice doled out to him, unlike so many other collaborators).
After a thwarted suicide attempt, Laval was executed by firing squad in October 1945.
Justice? In this world? How is that possible!?
