Almost made the title “no console warring here!” both because I (thankfully) rarely see that attitude in otome communities and it feels more appropriate for the picture, but I figure I ought to lead with the question so people can actually answer.
I asked in this community before what your favorite platform to play otome on was, but that is a different question from what you actually use most often to play otome. What do you play otome on most often and does it match your favorite platform for it?
PC for sure. Especially because that is the platform most indie releases are made for. Found some Japanese indies for PC too, although I admit I am struggling to figure out how to get a translation hooker meant for Windows working on Linux so I can actually start playing those Japanese indies. (The .exe file for the game itself runs fine, so does the translation hooker .exe. Not sure if they’re failing to “talk” to each other properly because of a Linux thing, or if it is just because I’m setting it up wrong and I’d have the same problem on Windows.) I remember someone talking about Google Lens, I might have to resort to something like that where I just have my phone next to me to translate the whole time.
Not sure if this is my favorite platform, because I might enjoy playing on my smartphone better, but I have not played a non-gacha/freemium otome on my smartphone before so I cannot actually judge.
…Switch or Nintendo DS (emulator) 😅, at the moment
Last/current otomes I’ve played are Jack Jeanne and the Vampire Knight DS game
Oh wow, I was trying to get the Vampire Knight DS patch to work and it kept not working for me… time to try again?
