Article title: “Giant red canoe sculpture set on fire at CityPlace park in Toronto’s core”. Article doesn’t mention the idea of “protest” once. Why do you raise the idea of protest?

The Ontario Fire Marshal will not investigate the incident, a spokesperson said in an email to CBC Toronto.

This should be the headline, since this appears to be flat out arson, not an act of protest.

No, as an act of arson it’s a police matter

As the Office of the Fire Marshal they would determine the cause and origin

Which they would come back telling the public whether it was intentional or not and if it was a gas, electrical, chemical, etc fire

Exactly! Why no investigation for this crime? It didn’t spontaneously combust, and even if it did, the public should know.
