In the year 2005, the U.S. government sealed off Los Angeles and turned the city into a massive prison called Crime Zone. Fifteen years later, criminal Tony Ricks is given one last chance. A Roger Corman-produced Escape from New York knock off movie that managed to predict the John Carpenter sequel, which would be released two years later. Coincidentally, Stacy Keach stars in both movies.
I’m guessing the title is also riffing off New Jack City, which came out a couple years before.
