Nice. Much better to drink an actual Irish beer than green bud light.
True. Sláinte 🍻
But did you make sure to get your certificate?
Nice!
I got to visit Dublin last year, and we did that tour while there. Super fun!
Would love to go there someday! Quite the history
Great country to visit.
Chalk a checkmark on the bucket list indeed!
From what I’m told, there are three different lots of Guinness barrels:
- Only sold in and around Dublin.
- Only sold everywhere else in Ireland, as well as the UK.
- Sold as export to the rest of the world.
I’ve had options 2 and 3, and there is a very noticeable difference.
I can only imagine what yours tastes like, but I bet that if I ever tried it, I’d try to never leave Dublin again.Yeah, I’m definitely not a Guinness drinker back in the States. I’m a hazy IPA guy.
Most of the Guinness sold in the rest of the world is not brewed in Dublin though. There are breweries in Baltimore and Chicago for example. I think there are 49 or 50 breweries making it world wide, and only about 5 of those are owned by Diageo. Presumably the rest are licensees of some kind.
Guinness is responsible for the death of many independent Irish breweries, they’re only so popular due to their elimination of any and all competition. The beer isn’t that good imo
