In the Amazon, the vast majority of deforestation occurs along roadways.

The main highways are not so much a problem in themselves, but they spawn secondary roads used for deforestation.

I imagine that the case is similar in other forested areas.

4. Cite your sources

in order to ensure an open and constructive discourse, it is necessary to deal with information in a transparent way. Therefore whenever possible, please link to scientific sources for claims that you make.
