Welcome to /c/naturalgardening!

Natural gardening is for all; permaculture is often for upper middle class hipsters. Join us! There are several schools of thought regarding natural gardening, the most notable two being in Korean and Japanese style.

Introduction to Japanese Natural Gardening

Japanese farming would be nothing without the pioneering works of Masanobu Fukuoka. His book on “do nothing” agriculture, The One Straw Revolution, has inspired millions around the world.

Works

  • Book, in Japanese: The One-Straw Revolution
  • Fukuoka’s official website

Introduction to Korean Natural Gardening

Inspired by the works of Hankyu Cho and his son and contemporary Youngsang Cho, Korean Natural Gardening works with plants and their soil alike, creating inputs with near zero cost.

Works

  • Site: Proof of Korean Natural Farming working in Hawai’i
  • PDF: JADAM Organic Farming: the way to Ultra-Low-Cost agriculture by Youngsang Cho
  • Site: Chris Trump’s personal website
