I threaded my own eyebrows recently and am using up a bar of scented soap on my hands. I’m starting to use an old unscented body lotion up on my face. (Hope it’s still good.)
Got a pair of secondhand jeans for $2 down from $11 on a tag sale a few weeks ago. Trying to wash out the stink of the indigo dye.
I bought a $30 rotary tool kit with included drill bits off eBay rather than buying a full size single purpose drill. (Hoping it’s enough for small jobs.)
I found YouTube channels with full movies that haven’t been taken down and have been reading op shop books.
There are rips in a favourite cotton comforter and I’m deciding whether it’s worth patching.
My hair is getting longer so I’ll either cut it again at home or just let it grow out. I’m seeing shampoo on 40-50% discount and am tempted but if it’s overly smelly I might be better off sticking with the sensitive Dove bar
How do you thread the bottom part of your eyebrows?
Very carefully. I haven’t done the bottom part yet as that was my first try but you can position the thread so it isolates only the hairs you want (see the part where she puts the thread under the ones she wants and pulls them to the side just to demonstrate) and slowly do a few hairs at a time. Letting go of the thread if it starts heading for areas you don’t want and starting again in the right place.
Watch videos and practice on your upper lip first.
Don’t be afraid to just finish off with tweezers in the tiny arched bits while you’re getting the hang of it.
I repaired my cat’s favourite bed.
It had been washed and having been through the machine a few times it was all lumpy and some spots weren’t padded anymore. I opened up a small hidden section of the seam, gutted it and restuffed with polyfill from an unwanted pillow. Sewed it back up and it will be much more comfortable.
I tried to refluff the fleece outer but the combs I had just pulled at the fibres. I need to find the generic tangle teezer because it works a lot better for restoring sherpa fleece.
I replaced the torn base of my dogs bed. Sewed a piece of the previous dogs woolen blanket over it.
Even when treating yourself and eating out, you can be frugal.
