If this were only a generic warning about the violent content therein, then I could understand that. Some people are just squeamish and find any intense violence disturbing, regardless of whether or not the victim deserved it.

What annoys me is the implication that the popular uprising against Benito Mussolini was a ‘horrific crime’ and that we need to approach the subject with sensitivity for him and his family. Considering the numerous atrocities that his régime committed, that is simply not a reasonable expectation. If anything, Benito Mussolini’s demise is a woefully inadequate compensation for all of the damage that his class caused to the world.

On first read, thought they meant “sensitivity for the victims and their families” meant the victims of Mussolini. I could understand cautioning sympathy for them, and that just seeing Mussolini could be triggering for those people.
Then I realized they probably meant that Mussolini and his family were the victims? Which is…a take to be sure. Especially as from what I remember, his remaining family are not a whole lot better.

understanding these events is crucial in the fight to prevent such atrocities from occurring again.

Correct. The atrocity was Mussolini, and making sure anyone who wants to be like him understands how it would end for them is a crucial preventative measure.
