Don’t let inadequate be the enemy of shitty
is this like your parachute is either golden or shit colored?
More context is the post at the top of the thread. It’s a vid of Booker yelling passionately. If he’s pretending - I’m impressed with his acting skills.
“There can be no bystanders in this fight. It is time that we understand the only thing necessary for wrong to triumph is for right to do nothing, for right to be silent.”
Translating from lib to English could this roughly be “color of your parachute” sentence?
Oh please please let’s not squabble who leads us. We are a big tent.
What’s your take?
So what this person is saying with that sentence is that trump is the “plummet” and that anyone standing up to him is the “parachute” that will help protect people from the plummet, and so it doesn’t matter if the parachute is red (republican) or blue (democrat). The idea being that regardless of party affiliation, standing up to Trump is a good that must be supported.
How does this idea fit into the context of what this person is replying to?
It doesn’t (because Booker is “blue” and should be expected to be a “parachute” against Trump’s “plummet” in this worldview). But coherence should never be expected.
So the Dems are going to start critically supporting the folks who tried to assassinate Trump then right? Let’s not complain about the color of the chute huh!
its just dumb bullshit, and i refuse to try and make sense of the metaphor any further. They are saying that we should ignore booker’s actions in support of trump, because he is a voice of opposition… but they are literally saying this in response to booker voting for trumps actions. so it doesn’t make sense
It makes sense if one only cares about the theater and not the practical outcomes.
“This parachute seems to have a lot of holes in it.”
It means we might need to reach across the aisle.
It doesn’t matter if the parachute is black or if the parachute is white, if it can catch mice it’s a good parachute
Let’s not squabble over the colour of the
parachuteparaglider?
