So, I know Deepseek’s debut is enough of a triumph in terms of technological progress and the western economy - however:
What if it was released as a mechanism to help people achieve class consciousness and avoid western censorship? What if Deepseek is intended to function as the seed of global revolution simply by getting the masses to engage with it to receive answers/information that align in their own class interests?
One example:
It is exhausting to engage with/debate liberal propaganda regarding the history of communism; can Deepseek do that for us, now?
A second:
The internet is becoming more and more censored and algorythm’d to hell by capitalist astroturf projects; is Deepseek an avenue to get access to information that isn’t western-aligned?
A third:
It is notoriously difficult to communicate on even a linguistic level with the Chinese as a westerner to learn their experiences and perspectives; can Deepseek function as an ambassador of the Chinese working class to Western working classes?
Deepseek could be a major force to wield against many adversaries that have proved problematic for the international working class during the digital age:
Information Control/Propaganda Time economy & Paywalls Educational/Academic abuse Geographic and Linguistic alienation
Has China given us an open-source tool that we can harness to technologically update organizing/agitprop in the West?
Deepseek is trained on the same data as other models, and as such will give the same Reddit-brained answers to political questions 🤷
May God hope those reddit-brains are from r/GenZedong and the like.
AI is already bridging the gap between Chinese people and the rest of the world via REDnote and DeepL. The latter is used for their auto translation feature and it’s pretty spot on.
It’s the same lib shit as the other LLMs lol, just with some censors on China-specific US propaganda points (that can easily be bypassed anyway)
Some people here and on the 'grad are definitely reading too much and being too hopeful about Deepseek. It’s not some great Chinese tool for communism, it’s just yet another cool innovation from Chinese companies (very common in large portion due to socialism), that just so happens to hurt the economic model of the main drivers of the AI bubble.
But it’s still the same slop generating shit as the other ones, created by a company that also believes they’re getting to “AGI” through this nonsense. It still has the same English sources, provides similar perspectives and is similarly harmful to society, only now it’s cheaper and open source. And no, “AI” will not help or be necessary for world revolution, talking to actual humans will.
Don’t let the haters get to you. You’re on the right track. There are some of us here thinking about the opportunities LLMs can afford us to multiply our capabilities.
You may very well be right but trying to discuss it here is a waste of breath in my experience. The reformed redditors here at chapo.chat see LLMs as an affront to their very special gifted status.
At the least you can use these models to absolutely wreck liberals with facts and logic in online arguments. Just be sure to check sources.
