Quick! The fascists are coming to kill us! What are some things that babies watch so we know what to call them? What would a baby call them if all the baby did was watch baby things but get physically older and be confronted with a reality incomprehensible to baby-land?

American villains, like their heroes, are all fictional because they’ve never been in the position of being the victim. Hitler is the closest to holding that position but in the American mind he’s an abstract concept that happened far away (even that’s more out of obligation/a sense that it’s the right thing to do because Hitler was evil. You lay out his ideas but replace Germany with America and chuds lap it up). Bin Laden was up there too since at least 9/11 happened on American soil, but beyond using him/terrorism as an excuse to invade/bomb half a dozen countries he hasn’t stuck in the American mind as a long term boogieman. Same with Saddam, you have american media of the time making him out to be this Hitler level threat (including SouthPark making him worse than Satan) but ultimately they found him saddam-hussein and every American memory holed him (except to point out Barack HUSSEIN Obama) because they know Saddam was never a threat to them personally or the United States as a whole.

Also they don’t even get the movies right, if they really thought Trump = Palpatine+Hitler+Megatron then the obvious course of action supported by both the movies themselves and real fucking history is illegal-to-say but that would violate “norms”. You gotta just sigh and say “this is how democracy dies” and hope you can oppose Palitlertron legally (until he makes your existence illegal oopsie)

At least pick a media that’s somewhat original? Compare Trump to IDK, a Dragon Ball character.

Trump is Frieza. Both are real estate developers and lead an empire.

And Hillary/Biden/Kamala is Vegeta, who was just as much a genocidal SOB but we gotta support uncritically anyway.

(I recall actually seeing this comparison somewhere)

Trump is Capa Barsavi, a high ranking mafioso with a penchant for gaudy displays of wealth who demands tithes of the criminal underworld. He likes to get us involved in his scheming. It puts us in direct danger because his scheming arouses the ire of the scumbags around us.

Fighting Nazis is actually exactly what they want because it gives them an excuse to fight back. So, actually, we should do nothing. Sure, they’re actively killing us, but if we fight back, they’ll kill us more. It’s the lesser of two evils.
